This Savory Umami Spread is rich, flavorful, and perfect as a topping for toast, crackers, or sandwiches. Yeast extract provides a deep, meaty umami taste, making this a great alternative to butter or cheese spreads.

📝Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Yeast extract (e.g., Marmite or Vegemite)

  • ¼ cup Unsalted butter (softened) or cream cheese

  • ½ tsp Garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)

  • ½ tsp Paprika (optional for a smoky taste)

  • 1 tsp Honey or maple syrup (optional for a mild sweetness)

  • 1 tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra umami)

  • ½ tsp Lemon juice (to balance the flavor)

👨‍🍳Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:

    • In a bowl, mix softened butter (or cream cheese) and yeast extract until smooth.

  2. Add Flavor:

    • Stir in garlic powder, paprika, honey (if using), Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice.

  3. Mix Until Smooth:

    • Blend well until the spread is creamy and well combined.

  4. Store & Serve:

    • Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 1 week.

    • Spread over toast, bagels, or crackers for a delicious umami boost!
