Savory Umami Popcorn (Using I+G Seasoning)🌽

📝Ingredients:

  • 100g Popcorn kernels

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil or butter

  • ½ tsp I+G seasoning (disodium 5'-inosinate and disodium 5'-guanylate)

  • ½ tsp Salt (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder (optional)

  • ¼ tsp Paprika or chili powder (optional for spiciness)

  • 1 tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra umami)


👨‍🍳Instructions:

  1. Pop the Popcorn:

    • Heat vegetable oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat.

    • Add popcorn kernels, cover the pot, and shake occasionally to prevent burning.

    • Once the popping slows down, remove from heat and let it rest for a minute.

  2. Prepare the Seasoning:

    • In a small bowl, mix I+G seasoning, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. Coat the Popcorn:

    • Transfer the hot popcorn to a large bowl.

    • Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly while tossing the popcorn to coat well.

    • (Optional) Add grated Parmesan cheese for extra umami flavor.

  4. Serve and Enjoy!
